Three years on from their accession as full EU member states, 5 percent of those surveyed think Lithuania is one of the countries currently applying to join, while 4 percent believe Estonia and Latvia are also hoping to join the European club some time soon.

This ranks down there with the 6% of American youths (18-24) who can’t even locate their own country on a world map!
All things considered, being a statistician myself, it must be acknowledged that this is a distributional thing. There always has to be some people at the bottom end of the distribution to compensate for the bright ones like you and me at the top.
